Promoting Food Access through Local Community Partnerships
The NeedsMet Food Access Program:
Cultivating Community, Nourishing Lives
The NeedsMet Food Access Program is a community-driven initiative dedicated to combating food insecurity and promoting healthy eating. We harness the power of aeroponic farming to grow fresh, nutritious produce, which we then share to local food access organizations.
Here’s What We do!
Grow: We utilize innovative aeroponic techniques to cultivate a diverse range of produce, including unique and specialty varieties, to expand the palates and culinary experiences of our community members.
Share & Donate: We partner with food access organizations to ensure our harvest reaches those facing food insecurity, providing them with fresh, healthy options.
Empower: We believe in the power of community and strive to create a collaborative environment where everyone has access to nutritious food.
Educate: We are committed to raising awareness about sustainable food production and healthy eating habits.
Develop Partnerships: We actively seek collaborations with local businesses, organizations, and individuals to amplify our impact and create a sustainable food system.
The Big, Fill the Fridge, Fiesta: Once a month, we host a community cookout where we prepare delicious and nutritious meals using our fresh produce. These meals are then delivered to RVA Community Fridges, further expanding access to healthy food options.
Full Circle Bloom aims to be a catalyst for change, fostering a stronger, healthier, and more food-secure community through collaboration, education, and shared meals.
We support local food banks through our partnership with the Southside Virginia Vegetable and Fruit Growers Association
The Southside Virginia Vegetable and Fruit Growers Association is a local organization whose mission is to promote and encourage improvements in produce and value-added products grown in Southside, Virginia. The Association works to develop fellowships that improve the production and marketing of local produce and support the community.
Bread Box Food Pantry
Full Circle Bloom's partnership with Bread Box sprouted from a simple act of generosity over two years ago. When faced with surplus produce from our farm that couldn't be sold through traditional channels, we reached out to Bread Box, recognizing their vital role in addressing food insecurity in our community. This initial donation blossomed into a fruitful collaboration, where we now consistently provide fresh, nutritious produce directly from our farm and community garden to Bread Box participants. This partnership not only reduces food waste, but also ensures that those in need have access to high-quality, locally grown food, strengthening the health and resilience of our community.

From Farm to Fridge: A New Era of Food Access in Lunenburg County
We are incredibly excited to announce our partnership with J&E Farmer's Market to establish a Community Fridge, a vital step towards fostering a more food-secure community. This initiative is deeply rooted in our belief that everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food. Through our NeedsMet Food Access Program (NFAP), we will regularly supply the fridge with vibrant produce and prepared meals grown on our aeroponic farm, ensuring consistent access to nutritious options for those who need it most. The Community Fridge serves as a crucial resource, directly addressing food insecurity by providing readily available sustenance. Additionally, it plays a significant role in reducing food waste, offering a channel for surplus food to nourish our community rather than being discarded. By providing a shared resource, this initiative strengthens our community bonds, creating a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and cared for. The 'take what you need, leave what you can' model empowers individuals with dignity and agency, allowing them to access food without stigma and contribute when possible. We are proud to collaborate with J&E Farmer's Market, a cornerstone of our community, who will be managing the day-to-day operations of the fridge, ensuring its accessibility and proper maintenance. We invite everyone to participate by donating surplus fresh produce and properly labeled prepared meals directly to the J&E Farmer's Market, and to learn more about our ongoing community initiatives by visiting our partnerships page."

This partnership ensures that seniors have access to the fresh, healthy food they need to thrive.
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to support the Mecklenburg Senior Citizens Center in their mission. By working together, we can enhance food security and well-being for the seniors they serve.

Introducing BLISS of Lunenburg and the BLISS Blessings Initiative
BLISS of Lunenburg is a vital part of the community, operating as a thrift store with a powerful mission: to reinvest all proceeds back into supporting local needs. Their commitment to serving their neighbors extends to addressing food insecurity directly through their BLISS Blessings food pantry. This program, operating from what was once a children's toy room, provides food assistance to anyone in need, without any financial requirements or judgment. We have provided our vertical aeroponics to support the Bliss family's mission.
Our Shared Mission: Growing a Healthier Lunenburg
Full Circle Bloom's vertical aeroponic systems are designed to produce fresh, nutritious produce efficiently and sustainably. By partnering with BLISS of Lunenburg, we can directly contribute to the BLISS Blessings food pantry, ensuring that it's stocked with healthy, locally-grown options. This will empower individuals and families accessing the pantry with the fresh produce they need to thrive.
We are also thankful for the continued support of the community. The outpouring of donations toward BLISS of Lunenburg – from the side-by-side refrigerator and bags of food to monetary contributions, the partnership with ITAC, and donations from J&E Farmer's Market – is a testament to the caring spirit of Lunenburg County.
A Commitment to Community, Powered by Collaboration
This partnership is about more than just providing food; it's about building a stronger, more resilient community through collaborative action. We are honored to work alongside the Bliss family and their team at BLISS of Lunenburg, leveraging their established network and community trust to reach those most in need.
